Let’s start by mashing 3 medium, over ripe bananas in a bowl with a whisk or wooden spoon. To your smashed bananas add 1/3 cup of melted butter…

1 egg…

1 cup of sugar…

And 1 teaspoon of vanilla.

Go ahead and stir all of that together!

Now add 1 teaspoon of baking soda…

1/4 teaspoon of salt…

And 1 1/2 cups of flour.

Mix in your dry ingredients by hand until all of the flour is incorporated.

Time to fold in 1 cup of dark chocolate chips!

If your not into dark chocolate, go ahead and use milk chocolate chips. If your not into chocolate at all (?!?!?) feel free to throw in some chopped walnuts instead.

Pour your mixture into a prepared loaf pan and pop this into a oven preheated to 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes.

On to the peanut butter glaze!!

In a bowl combine 1/3 cup of creamy peanut butter…

And 1/3 cup of powdered sugar.

Mix those two by hand…

Then slowly stir in 3-4 tablespoons of milk until you’ve reached your desired glaze consistency.

And that’s all there is to it! Pretty awesome, huh?!

When your banana bread is done baking remove it from the loaf pan (it should pop right out!) and allow it to cool on a wire rack.

Here comes my favorite part…

I called this treat breakfast, but my husband ate it for dessert! I’ll let you decided where this decadent bread belongs in your life!
